Change my Shadow PC or Drive subscription

Need to adjust your Shadow PC or Shadow Drive subscription? This guide will show you how to change your subscription offer directly from your account page.

Change Shadow PC offer

You can change your Shadow PC subscription from the "Shadow PC" section of your account page. Select the Shadow PC you want to modify, then click Settings Change offer.

If you have a legacy Shadow PC offer, you will lose access to the offer once you change your plan.

Note: Back up important files before changing your Shadow PC offer.

Change Shadow Drive offer

You can change your Shadow Drive subscription from the "Shadow Drive" section of your account page. Click Edit Change plan.

You can change between Free or Premium offers instantly. If you want to downgrade from Premium to Free, you can do so as long as your used storage is 20GB or less.

Related questions

Shadow PC can only keep the data on your drive in specific circumstances and officially recommends backing up your data before making any changes to your offer.

Your data will be deleted under the following circumstances:

  • If your new offer will shrink the size of your primary drive (C:)

  • If your Shadow PC needs to be migrated to complete your request.

    • Data stored on your primary drive (C:) will be erased

    • Any additional storage you purchased (D:) will be erased

Note: Your Shadow PC may need to be migrated if your preferred offer isn’t available in your current data center. If this happens, your Shadow PC will be reset.

If you switch to the new Boost offer:

If you currently own the old Boost or Early Access Power offer, you will switch offers immediately.

If you currently own another offer, your offer will change at the end of your current subscription.

If you switch to the new Power offer:

If you currently own one of the following offers, you will switch offers immediately:

  • Old Shadow Boost

  • New Shadow Boost

  • Power Early Access

  • Old Power

  • Old & New Standard Pro

  • Old & New Extended Pro

If you currently own another offer, your offer will change at the end of your current subscription.

If you switch to the new Standard Pro offer:

If you currently own the old or new Boost offer, you will switch offers immediately.

If you currently own another offer, your offer will change at the end of your current subscription.

If you switch to the new Extended Pro offer:

If you currently own one of the following offers, you will switch offers immediately:

  • Old Shadow Boost

  • New Shadow Boost

  • Power Early Access

  • Old & New Power

  • Old & New Standard Pro

If you currently own another offer, your offer will change at the end of your current subscription.

If you switch to the new Advanced Pro offer:

If you currently own the old or new Expert Pro offer, you will switch offers at the end of your current subscription.

If you currently own another offer, your offer will change immediately.

If you switch to the new Expert Pro offer:

You will change offer immediately regardless of the offer you currently own.

Some coupons are intended for specific Shadow PC offers and may not be compatible with other offers. Storage coupons, however, can be used universally. Contact Support for more information about your coupon and its validity.

It is not possible to change when your billing cycle starts.

If you have a legacy Shadow PC offer, you will lose access to the offer once you change your plan.

The following is a list of some legacy Shadow PC offers:

If you have one of these offers, it will stay active as long as you don't cancel your subscription. You can still switch from a legacy offer to any current offer.

If you switch offers immediately from your account page, you'll be charged a pro-rated amount based on your current billing date. Otherwise, you'll be charged on your next billing date.

You don't lose your existing data if you upgrade from a free account to a premium account (you will keep the same account and drive space).

It is not possible to switch directly from the Premium Offer to the Free Offer for the moment. Consequently, your data will be lost if you go unsuscribe to the Premium Offer then subscribe to the Free Offer.

We recommend to backup your data before switching to the Free Offer.

For the moment, you have 2 invoices the month you subscribe to Shadow Drive (with prorata) and 1 invoice the next month with both subscriptions.

We are working on removing the prorata and having two separate bills every month for the 2 subscriptions.
