Shadow PC in Browser - FAQ

Shadow PC in Browser allows you to access your Shadow PC directly through a browser without any need for installation or configuration. You can use Shadow PC in Browser on some Chromium-based browsers such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Since Shadow PC in Browser is in early development, more browsers might become compatible later on.
✨ Try Shadow PC in Browser on your Xbox Series X or other gaming consoles.
To access Shadow PC in Browser, open your browser and log in to https://pc.shadow.tech. Shadow PC will begin streaming in windowed mode by default when it's ready.
To exit the Shadow PC stream, click the Home button in the Quick Menu.
💡 Keep your browser up-to-date to make sure Shadow PC is running on the most recently tested version.
Requirements
To use Shadow PC in Browser, make sure your device meets the following requirements:
H.264 video codec support.
Shadow PC's minimum internet requirements.
We've identified issues with these screen resolution and aspect ratio ranges. We'll continue to improve resolution and aspect ratio support as development progresses.
Compatible Offers
Shadow PC in Browser is compatible with the following Offers:
Shadow PC in Browser is not compatible with Shadow PC Offers activated before June 28, 2023.
If you want to benefit from the updated Offer, subscribe to the updated Offer on your account page.
Settings & Features
Some settings and features currently found in Shadow PC, such as microphone support and copy & paste, are already available, but may require additional permissions. More advanced settings and features are only available on our other applications.
The following settings and features are not included:
4:4:4 color enhancement.
ShadowUSB, the service that allows you to forward any USB device directly into your Shadow.

Permissions
The first time you launch Shadow PC in Browser, your browser will request permission to use any features. You'll need to give Shadow PC in Browser permission to use features such as the microphone or copy & paste.

If you don't give Shadow PC in Browser permission to use these features, they'll remain unavailable until they are allowed.
Controllers
You can link a maximum of 4 controllers using either a wired plug-and-play setup or a wireless Bluetooth connection. As of January 2025, Shadow PC in Browser is compatible with the following wired and Bluetooth wireless controllers: PlayStation 4 DualShock, PlayStation 5 DualSense, Xbox 360, and Xbox One & Series.
As Shadow PC in Browser is currently in early access, certain controllers or their features might become incompatible unexpectedly.
Below is a list of controllers compatible with Shadow PC in Browser. This list indicates which controllers have rumble1 support. Find your controller and operating system for details.

Quick Menu
Shadow PC in Browser has a Quick Menu similar to that of the Quick Menu available on our desktop applications. To open the Quick Menu, log into the Shadow launcher, then Start Shadow PC in Browser. Once Shadow PC in Browser starts, click on the Shadow logo located at the top of the screen.
While the Browser session is active, you have access to the Quick Menu with several options available:

What resolution and aspect ratio does Shadow PC in Browser support?
Screen resolutions up to 2K work with Shadow PC in Browser, supporting a refresh rate of 60Hz. You can stream in an aspect ratio of up to 16:9 or 16:10. Certain resolutions and aspect ratios might encounter issues.
Does Shadow PC in Browser have any shortcut keys? Do they conflict with other shortcuts?
Shadow PC in Browser doesn't have any shortcut keys yet. Standard shortcuts like Alt+F4 will function in your Shadow PC only when you are in full-screen mode.
Will Shadow PC automatically shut down while it's running on my browser?
Shadow PC in Browser follows the same automatic shutdown rules in the browser as our other desktop applications and will shut down due to inactivity.
Shadow PC in Browser may not display a shutdown warning.
Is Shadow PC in Browser compatible with VR?
No, Shadow PC in Browser is not compatible with our VR application.
Is Shadow PC in Browser compatible with IPv6?
Yes, Shadow PC in Browser is compatible with IPv6.
What should I do if I have an issue on Shadow PC in Browser?
